The Medicare annual Open Enrollment period is October 15 to December 7. This is the one time each year when all people with Medicare can make changes to their health plans. If you change to a different plan, your new plan will start January 1, 2021. During open enrollment you can move:
- From original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan
- From a Medicare Advantage plan to original Medicare
- From one Medicare Advantage plan to another
- From one Part-D drug plan to another
- From a Medicare Advantage plan that doesn’t offer drug coverage to another that does, and vice versa
VNSNY CHOICE offers a plan that combines Medicare Advantage and Medicaid Managed Long Term Care. It might be right for you if you are eligible for Medicare and Medicaid and need help with daily activities like walking, cooking, dressing, and bathing to live safely at home. The plan includes valuable benefits not covered by original Medicare, like an Over the Counter (OTC) card that is loaded with $132 each month* that you can use to buy groceries as well as over-the-counter medicines and medical supplies. If you want to keep your Medicare plan but need help with daily activities to live safely at home, we offer a Medicaid Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plan that works as an add-on to your Medicare coverage. Learn more about VNSNY CHOICE MLTC.
*Eligibility for Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) required for grocery benefit.
