Document Cancer Screenings for Your Patients
We need your help to ensure patients at risk for cancer are getting the support they need from us. When you conduct cancer screenings for your patients, please document both screenings and any treatments in their medical records.
We can provide a roster of our members that require a cancer screening. Please email us for the list.
Our goal is to help you and your patients navigate cancer prevention, through knowledge and awareness. Here’s a closer look at some critical cancer-specific areas:
- Breast cancer—it is crucial that patients get screened regularly as it’s the second largest cause of cancer-related deaths among women.*
- Colorectal cancer—the minimum age requirement has been lowered to 45 years old from 50. Additionally, transportation is required for patients after receiving a colonoscopy, which could cause an accessibility issue. For those unable to have a colonoscopy, alternative options include FOBT/FIT tests.
- Cervical cancer—it is crucial to have proactive discussions on sexual health and safe sex practices, regardless of their gender or gender identity.
